very good and very true. I think she just needs to get over her feeling that the panhandle is different and metropoliatan. NWA is much more metro than Lubbock.

OP, you will find much of AR, though I do not know anything about Oppelo, more like the mid-west in many ways.

Politically you will find AR and Kansas very similar. There are more conservatives though they might be registered Democrats than there are liberals, but there is a balance.

I don't think I'd term Fred Phelps and his far-from-merry-band of followers "liberals", in any sense of that word.

Oppelo is near the foot of Petit Jean (pro. "petty gene") Mountain, and as noted, is tiny. The land around Oppelo itself is flat to very gently rolling - but Petit Jean makes up for that!

However, considerably larger Morrilton is quite close by and probably can offer more in the way of employment.

Oppelo, Perryville, Morrilton, etc. are all very rural feeling towns. Nothing wrong with that, just don't expect a lot of activity or a diverse population. It sounds like it won't be that much different than where you are living now (just different terrain) honestly, so good luck with the move and I hope you enjoy your new home. (And if you don't, Conway is pretty close by, about a half hour drive, and might be more interesting to you/offer more in the lines of employment. Little Rock isn't that far away either, but too far to reasonably commute, in my opinion.)

One thing I can say about that area....the countryside is beautiful!

I'm not saying that's the only good thing, that's just the only thing I know about it, since I don't live there, have only driven through. Have stayed at Petit Jean several times....beautiful!

ksn8908, I've lived in KS and made trips to Dodge City, so, I think the only thing you will notice here is that everything is so green. Come on down, relax, and enjoy. Welcome to The Natural State.

I can't give you a good answer because the way school districts get divided, some times don't make any sense. If you can, I would suggest you call the Morrilton School District and tell them where you will be living and they can give you correct answers.

ok so i went down there to visit and have a look around, and now I am worried about the people. I only had one nice experience with the people there. Everyone seemed so rude. Is this just a coincidence or is it just there way of handling outsiders?
