I just talked with a friend that lives close to Centerton and goes to church in Centerton and she told a few things about the town. It's the fastest growing community in Arkansas right now. When she moved to the area, Centerton was around 1,000 population around 6 years ago and now it's over 6,000 and growing. There are older, established homes still for sale at a decent price and lots of newer built homes. The prices of the newer built homes are coming down in price because some of the industry has slowed down some or has stabilized. Centerton has just built a new elementary school for the younger kids and the older kids are going to Bentonville for now. Probably in the future there will be schools built for the older school age children as the population grows. There is a large Baptist Church, a Harp's Grocery Store, Sonic, McDonald's, Dollar General Store and talk of building a Neighboorhood Wal-Mart Grocery Store or Super Center in the future. Alot of young families live in Centerton and my friend has not heard anything bad about Centerton. Hope this helps!

Hi Jcolon,
Welcome to the AR board. Let me fill you in on what I know about Centerton... It has always been a rather slow growing community until the big corporations came bring in hoards of transfers and raising the cost of real estate in the Bentonville/Rogers area. Now people are finding land and housing for cheap in the Centerton area. A lot of the new developments are cookie-cutter houses, duplexes or apartments. But that is not to say new full developments can be found. Some of the houses with land come cheap but might be in need of repairs. The restaurant/shops are building. Another reason people are moving to Centerton is the area is primarily Caucasian, while other parts of NWA (Springdale, Rogers) is dominated by Hispanics. Many of the apartment renters are students from the Community College, four miles away. At 1254 feet the area is flat, and the summer temps are hot. In conclusion, if you’re looking for a growing area with cheap housing and growing schools. Centerton would meet that need. A plus is that the town is ideally located close to Bentonville and Rogers and would not be inconvenient if your kids chose the Bentonville school system. Moderator cut: sorry, no links to real estate sites or other "for sale" sites on City Data. OP, feel free to direct message the poster for information Last edited by Sam I Am; 11-22-2007 at 04:59 AM. |
