I have just a small token of advice regarding schools, and that is to STAY AWAY from Cutter Morning Star school district. I had my daughter there for both Pre-K and Kindergarten this last year, and it was awful! Not only are they struggling with funding, but they are in the bad/poor side of town. I was horrified at what my daughter was learning from other kids in her class (sure, kids will be kids...but I could tell that many of the children that went to this school had careless parents). Also, and this may not be a down side for you but it was for me -- they teach religious doctrine in the school. Last I checked, public schools are not supposed to teach religion. I was very annoyed when my daughter would come home talking about Jesus this and Jesus that. They were even teaching her that "naked" and "Mary" were bad words. I mean, seriously?

As tourists, we love HS. We just got home yesterday from about our 6th visit since 2003. Downtown is touristy, quirky, and a nice place to walk and people watch. The further south you go it gets quirkier and weirder. Not sure I'd go there (about a block south of the visitor center or so). But overall it's a nice place. My wife keeps bugging me about moving there. We're from flat, tree-less north Texas and the topography and beauty of that area of AR is wonderful.
