Smile Any German- speaking folks interested in setting up some fun get togethers?

I am moving to the Little Rock area by the end of this year and would love to find some nice people to hang out with. Born and raised in Germany, I would absolutely love to talk German and spend time with people that are from there or any other parts of Europe, or who would like to meet people from different backgrounds. I was thinking to maybe set up a meeting at a cafe or restaurant once a month or so starting in January. Nothing formal, just a place and time for us to share our culture, language and memories.
Now obviously I wouldn't know of any good places to go, yet, but I am all up for organizing it.

Also, I did not mean to post this twice, but realized that the conway area forum might not reach enough people. I would delete it, but can;t figure out how.

I'd just leave it in the Arkansas forum since you want to reach people outside central Arkansas. The moderator will take care of it though.
There is a German restaurant called Emmys in Fort Smith if you ever visit, I have no idea about Little Rock.
Have to keep it in English here, look at the Mexico forum and you'll see what I mean.
I don't speak German but I listen to Rammstein sometimes. I remember there was a German exchange student in high school, I was wearing a Rammstein T-shirt one day and she loved Rammstein

Haha! Yes, it appears many Americans are familiar with Rammstein. Or 99 red balloons. I will have to check out that restaurant for sure.

I'm originally from Switzerland and a native German speaker (well, sort of... you know what I mean! ), but I live in Rogers, NWA. If you ever come up here, we can meet up! Also, there's a lovely German bakery here in Bentonville called Bizzy Bee, run by a German Confectioner named Beate. She makes the best Bienenstich, Rugalach and Lebkuchen!

There is a "German-American Club" located in Little Rock that I've heard of, but I don't know a whole lot about them. I don't know if I'm allowed to post links directly in here, but they have a facebook page and a simple website you can find if you search "German-American Club of Little Rock" on Google. They might be a good place to start. There is quite a bit of German culture and history present in the Central Arkansas area (Altus, Subiaco Academy, parts of the Heights/Hillcrest, etc.), so I would think that there is surely some sort of German-speaking group that gets together occasionally.

Default Just got back from Germany

Hello,
I just spent a year and a half in Germany and while I didn't pick up the kanguage very well, my 6 year old did, she went to German Kindergarten. I am looking for someone that she would be able to talk to on a regular basis to keep her language skills growing.
