Relocating to Pine Bluff
We are relocating to Pine Bluff area and want to know some other towns around to look for housing in and would Little Rock be too far to drive back to Pine Bluff Everyday? Also I heard that Pine Bluff has some good and bad neighborhoods, can anyone tell me a few of the safe neighborhoods to live in.
Thanks

Pine Bluff is not a nice place to be. Live a ways out of town, or you're going to be unhappy. I can't give you specifics because I've never stayed in the place long enough to know about neighboorhoods, mainly because I got out quickly.

Yeah, Pine Bluff is probably the worst city in Arkansas to live. Little Rock is like 45 minutes away without any traffic delays. Any of the small towns around PB would be good to live in. Star City, Sherridan, Redfield, White Hall, etc.

We moved from that area a little over a year ago. We lived in White Hall. It is a nice area. Sherdian is also a good area, a little more country. You will hear of an area called Watson Chapel. It is a suburb sorta of Pine Bluff. That is a pretty good area as well. Yes. There are areas you do not want to live in or be in after dark, for that matter. But don't fret, you will be fine. Just use your head. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

Thanks
Thank you for the info. What are the biggest problems there? I have heard a lot of good things about White Hall, but from those of you that really know, is it a good place to be? We have two small children and really want to make sure the schools and communities are good.
Thanks

The crime rate is the biggest problem. When the gangs took over the streets in LR back in the 90's the cops eventually took back control. Well many of the gang members moved to Pine Bluff and have been there since. It is a very rough area for someone of any race; but if you're white, there are definately areas that you wouldn't want to be in in the day time (mush less after dark).
I don't know much about White Hall. But anywhere in the area outside of Pine Bluff should be nice and tranquil for your family.

The schools in White Hall are very nice from what I saw. I always heard very good things about them. I don't think you will go wrong there at all. We did get to know a couple of the teachers there.
You will find that things/prices in White Hall are a little higher than Pine Bluff, but it is worth the price difference. They also have their own revenue office for vehicle tags, grocery stores, restaurants, etc. I used to live next door to a church pretty much in the middle of White Hall. Kids would play out in the field behind the church all the time. We even had a couple that would ride their horse around the neighborhood every once in a while. White Hall has it's own Christmas parade, etc.
If I had to move back down there.... White Hall would probably be my first choice.. Sheridan would be next. When we first were checking out the town, we stopped at Bethany Baptist Church to ask community information. They were very helpful. They let us know where was safe, etc. Give 'em a visit/call when you get there. Their secretary is there most all day and very friendly.

I have relatives that lived in White Hall and they loved it. It is a very nice place. My cousins attended school there. One of them is now in her third year of med school. As for Pine Bluff, I spent about four months there for work, and it was horrible. The crime rate is unreal and I was made uncomfortable by looks and remarks made as people passed. You couldn't pay me enough to live there.
