Default Homes in Mtn Home, AR

I buy and sell a little real estate here in Mtn Home and have found that if you rent a month or so here, you can look around and find some really nice homes (not fancy, but nice) for $60-70,000 and up range. I have bought 3 for $50,000 and under, fixed them up and resold them for about $80,000. Opportunity is here if you have time to shop around instead of coming, looking a day or so and buying. Rent for a month in a motel if nothing else, but just don't rush. If you are a nice person, you will be treated well here. If you are not, you get the same in return. We usually treat people like they treat us - the locals do anyhow. We have lakes and rivers all around us and lots of opportunity except in the job market. We are still a little behind there. The town and surrounding area is growing so maybe that will change soon, too. Good luck and if you are a nice person, welcome to Arkansas...:-)

I concur with Wezey, you need to come and rent for a while, take your time finding the right home. While prices seemed to begin falling during last year and the beginning of this year, and construction has fallen off, prices this summer rebounded somewhat. I've also noticed in Northwest Arkansas that some builders are offering really good deals on unfinished homes, so that you can truly customize them.
