My husband and I are relocating to Magnolia and are currently gathering info about the area. We have four kids ranging in age from 10 to 1 and are interested in info about the school system. Any info on the area would be helpful.
Thanks!

Default Hello and Welcome To South Arkansas.....

I live in Camden which is close to Magnolia. I don't know about the public school system there but I know of a great private school. I have a friend that lives in Camden, teaches at the school and her children go to school there. It is named Columbia Christian School. Magnolia is a small southern town that has a good University, South Arkansas University. I would say that the schools are not as crowed as our public school in Camden which is why Camden has 2 private schools for choice. Best of luck on your move.

Magnolia Public School is one of the best in the state and is the best school district in southern Arkansas. its the third largest school district after Texarkana and El Dorado but out paces those schools in academic marks. Magnolia is the 36th largest school district in the state. Each year since 1999 Magnolia graduates have recieved over 1million dollars in college scholarships.

I dated a wonderful woman who grew up in Magnolia. Her mom and dad moved there from Massachusetts when she was younger and still reside there. Both she and her brothers have moved to other places now, and don't have favorable things to say about the place, however the parents have carved out a comfortable life there. I've visited twice and remember the the gentle and laid-back (sleepy) feel. Also, there is a small university (SAU) located there. Depending on your course in life, you might find it charming or terribly boring and remote
