Seeking Information on Oden
Can anyone provide some information regarding Oden, Arkansas... what is presently there.... stores? supermarket? bank? library? townhall/municipal building? Am I correct, the nearest town in Mt Ida? What is the real estate market in this area.... land values? Is there currently any housing development there... Would very much enjoy talking with someone who currently resides in Oden or the surrounding area. Also, what wildlife exists in the area?

Keep in mind that there's less than two hundred thousand registered users of City-Data.com, and that only a small fraction of those read and post regularly. There's 300 million people in the U.S. Less than one percent of those live in Arkansas (3 million). So if the distribution of C-D.com users is the same as the population distribution of the U.S. (highly suspect, but we'll go with it for now) that means the universe of people in Arkansas who could see your post is about 1600. 15 people actually have read it so far. Is it really so surprising that that none of those 15 people have anything useful to say about a place that has only 220 people, is in the middle of nowhere, and isn't even on the road to anyplace interesting?

Thanks, but not exactly the answers to my questions
Having looked at the statistical information provided, sad that you have absolutely no information to offer as a reply to my specific questions.

All I could help you with is possibly the wildlife, which I assume is much like anywhere else in Arkansas - lots of deer, rabbits, squirrels, maybe some bear or wild hogs. Great fishing close. I don't know that I've seen anyone post in the Arkansas forum who is anywhere really close to Oden at all. I think Mt. Ida only has about 1000 people. You're talking a very narrow window on the population of Arkansas. I think Rackensack probably gave you almost anything there is to know. Your reply is a little blunt for someone who has tried to help, in my opinion.
