To all the north central Arkansas folks:
I've just spoken with Roz, who got into CV this weekend to see her new house - she has had a ball, loves it, says she never wants to go back to L.A.!
She has found her new home in Arkansas and says her experience has been very, very positive...the people were friendly even in Wal Mart, she's gotten to drive around and get acclimated - even that brief side trip when she missed her turn and got on the road to Memphis!
She will be posting on her findings on Wednesday or so after she gets back to L.A. and back to work - now if her house will just sell, she'll be on her way to her new place in C.V. to enjoy her retirement.
She's still going to be looking for a church home (I told her to pick the one with the best food, but I guess that's not the greatest barometer, now is it???).
Thanks to all who made Roz feel welcome. I look forward to her permanent arrival and have promised sweet tea and a big bottle of OFF for her - oh, and does anyone have a recipe for possum? LOL! She says there are so many of them she really needs to learn to cook 'em!

No, I'm in the River Valley - we just spoke by phone. Roz and I had hoped to meet, but CV is a ways from me and my life interfered in a BIG way...but hopefully next time! |

If you are not in CV but a ways off, Maybe you should think about having this lady move next door to you. In a place you are more accustom with. It seems like all these people giving her all this advice don't live in Cherokee Village some a long ways away and maybe not even in the state. |

If you read Roz's post again, she's been to CV and was warmly welcomed. There are several posters on this forum who DO live near her and have invited her to church with them. I think she got the reception lots of us had promised her.
As far as having her move next door, I can only wish - and believe me, I tried - but her heart is in CV and she's found her new home. Far be it from me to tell anyone where to live their life (although I personally think the River Valley is perfect!). Why don't we just be happy for her that she received such a warm welcome and is happy? Seems a lot more productive, you know?
I think a lot of the negativity about where to live in Arkansas is a bunch of hype - then again, I don't know it all and don't pretend to. But I think Roz has to go on her gut instinct, not what I tell her or what you tell her, and she appears to be a bright, insightful, articulate woman who likes what she saw. I'm just pleased that CV was all she had hoped for and I can't wait for her to get here permanently so that we can have the opportunity to know each other better!

River Valley sounds nice, I am not sure where it is but it may be nice to come their for a day trip or maybe a night. I haven't been around Arkansas that much but I like everything I have seen other than little Rock.
And I do like things just the way they are, And I hope it stays the way it is for a long time I don't want to see another Los Angeles pop up here.

It's okay for him to move here, but has a problem with others moving here. What if the people around you acted the same way you do Junkman ? Moderator cut: comment serves no useful purpose
