So GDX will be incorporated to the MAPS operation except for 3 plant : batesville, wabash and magog. We are receiving some kind of bonus if we stay till the end. My husband works at the Wabash plant and has about 19 years. Many already are out the door, leaving about 200 or less. They said it could shut down anytime between now and March 1.
He just found out that he will get 8000.00 before taxes as a severence package and his pension will still be intact.....thank God, we was really worried about that. So many people out of work with no insurance its awful. And Wabash is a tiny community of 12000. Many married couples work there, older people that will have a hard time finding a job. I am worried for us, but I know we are better off that many others.
We should have guessed that it didn't look good when Cerabus bought GDX.
