We're spending the weekend in Little Rock and around the Bryant area Sunday. We're trying to find out any new places to eat. We usually eat at Red Lobster but would like to find a new place to try. Any suggestions? Most of us like seafood and one of use likes chicken and no seafood. Thanks for any suggestions.....

Great website! Think we'll take the kids to one of the Japanese Steak Houses in Little Rock. Fun for the entire family...

I'll throw in my token recommendation for **** of the Walk. Kids love it, and I do too.
[ETA: Why did that get edited? It's the name of the restaurant.] |

Another great place, although I guess it would depend on how old the kids are and how much you want to eat, is Gaucho's - up behind Macaroni Grill off W. Markham past Shackleford. Big bowls of homestyle veggies, but the "gauchos" come to your table with huge skewers of every kind of roasted meat there is and slice off whatever amount you want. And you eat as much as you want, for as long as you want, and you leave with a distended belly.....but you are one happy carnivore when you walk out the door! I've not had their dinners other than this special, but it's great. It's most likely a little too upscale for tots, but if we're talking teens and tweens, it's good. If you like Asian food, also try Lily's Den Sum at Rodney Parham and ...I believe it's Market Street. It's in a strip shopping center and has delicious Asian Food - if you want to go upscale, try Brave New Restaurant at Cantrell and Rebsamen Park, or Loca Luna next door. Keep going down Rebsamen to Riverfront and there's Faded Rose, which is an all time popular spot as well. Flying Fish in the River Market is great food, laid back setting, and family friendly, just usually a little crowded. Uh-oh...Bryant area, huh? Gotta admit, I'm lost....and 'Rooster' of the Walk in Maumelle would be quite the drive....River Market really isn't that far, and it's just a neat place to go even at night - if you go early enough in the afternoon you can ride the trolley, which would be fun for the kids...not sure what time it quits running, though.

I like that -- 'Rooster of the Walk'!
Sam makes great recommendations. I've eaten at many of those places and like them all very much. Vermillion is also very good. BTW, I always heard that Sonny Williams Steak Room is awesome. Alas, when I lived in LR, I was too poor to eat there. Probably still am. ![]() |
