Default What's your favorite town name in Arkansas?

Not your favorite town, but the name...and there are a lot to choose from, some of which are ridiculous! Please tell where the town is at, too...

My favorite name is Possum Grape - off 67 north of Searcy, between Bald Knob and Newport (and Bald Knob would be another interesting one!).

This topic could go on for a while, in a state with place names like Umpire, Flippin, Cotter, Deer, Parthenon, Smale, Oil Trough, Evening Shade, Fifty-six, Bee Branch, and two towns named Blue Ball. But having gone to college in Conway, I've gotta go with Toad Suck Ferry.

Default Ecore Fabre

Ecore Fabre; however, it no longer appears on the Arkansas map. I have a reproduced copy a "1837 map of Texas with contiguous American and Mexican States"; and, I have always been fascinated with the name. The town was located on the main drag between Washington AR and Columbia AR. It was a little south of where the Little Missouri River flowed into the Wasahita (I know it is no longer spelled this way) River. The type setting style and size of the town name appears to give it equal weight with Fayettville of that time period. There were other seemingly large towns that have since "disappeared" as well.

We enjoyed our visit to Fairfield Bay. You can look up Greers Ferry Lake. The views are incredible. I like where I live in North Carolina, but I enjoyed visiting and will probably visit again. We called it the roller coaster town because of the up and down streets.

How can you not like Flippin or Hempwallace?
Other states I've lived in have good names too. New Jersey has Ong's Hat.
Washington State has Pysht.

Smackover, Oil Though, Wabbaseka, Furry, Clifty, Fifty-Six, Goobertown, Y City and Young Gravelly all compete for top honors from me but my favorite is a place name, already named above...Toad Suck.
