Anyone get to watch the Ole Miss press conference at noon? Nutty boy said all the right words to the Rebel faithful. You'd have thought he was born and raised in Oxford and not Little Rock! Funny thing is, we've heard it all before up this way: he loves the Ole Miss tradition, he's all about winning and being competitive, blah blah blah... Sam, I truly am sorry he's being afflicted upon a team you cheer for.. but to the good, could things be much worse at Ole Miss? Nutt's got nowhere to go but up with that program. He can look like a genius for a few years, rest on his laurels like he did here, eek out a few big wins while dropping the easy ones, and then get outta dodge on an up note. He's got plenty of experience with that.

I watched it - I wept for my beloved Bulldogs, who have never been the same since Archie Manning left.
Hey, at 9.5 mil? I could coach 'em. I'm positive I could. I'd just tell 'em to get out there and do whatever they do and let me know when it's over. Well, I don't know if I'd do very well, but that equates out to ... what? I dunno, I lost the calculator...but a LOT of money for winning OR losing. I'd try really hard....60 games in 5 years, maybe a couple of demos, maybe a couple of low rung bowl games if they get extremely lucky? And my stupid, stupid Bulldogs want to give him that kind of money. For the love of Pete, the world has gone mad...

Sounds like Tommy Bowden might be the current first choice.

I think the spread formation is the "new thing" in college football. it does add some excitement to the game and appears to give defensive coordinators fits. It does seem that the Vols have a hard time stopping it!

what happened to tubberville?
Id say promote Herring, kinda like a one-year deal just to see how it goes with the option of extending the contract.

tuberville has a $6M golden handcuffs buyout clause if he leaves early. After the weekend, I've not heard anything more about him so I have to assume this bumped him off the table. Who knows though???
At this point, I'd tend to agree to promoting Herring and giving him a shot.
