Can anyone tell me a little bit about Hardy, AR. We were looking at some property located there.
One of my main concerns is how far to get to decent size shopping opportunities, like Lows, Penny’s or other department stores. Are there any restaurants in or near Hardy, any fast food chains at all? Another concern I have is how far to doctors and decent hospital. What is the distance to the nearest decent size town. Also, what churches are available. Any information on living in Hardy will be much appreciated! |

Hardy is about an hour from Jonesboro, Arkansas, which has all the stores and a New large mall you would ever want... The closest Hospital from hardy is in Salem, Arkansas, the next biggest one is in Batesville, which is about an hour driver also.... There are a few restaurants around here, McDonalds, Taco Bell, KFC, and some other privately owned restaurants.... Churches are abundant and all very friendley, where are you living now? You might also consider Cherokee Village if you are thinking about moving here.... Moderator cut: no realty links, please Deborah/Cherokee Village Last edited by Sam I Am; 10-19-2007 at 04:07 PM. |

I would have to say that Deborah is right with her answers. Yes, the good shopping for the mall type atmosphere is in Jonesboro. It is a very nice, new mall with ample choices and the "in" chains. I would also add that Batesville to the south about 45-50 miles away has a new Home Depot and other shopping and is a littler closer in mileage. It depends on what you are looking for or your mood that day in driving.
Ash Flat to the southwest is only 15 minutes away and that has, of course, the huge Walmart. If you are looking for a community that seems to have a sense of belonging, I would also suggest Cherokee Village. If you are coming from far away, you may better adapt there as opposed to Hardy. These towns around the area are very small, but also very friendly, but I think Cherokee Village has that atmosphere you may be seeking. Where are you coming from and why are you considering a move and we can probably be a little more help? - hj |

Hello everybody!
![]() My fiancee and I are located in Vero beach, FL right now and since the real estate market is going through the roof and we have to fight traffic every day, I have been looking at other areas to relocate to. I found Cherokee Village and Hardy. How far are they apart? The real estate prices in those places is unbelievable! I alone pay for my annual taxes $2,340!!! How about the job market? I am an Administrative Assistant, but can also paint, landscape etc. I just want to find peace in my life! My fiancee is very handy and can do anything from carpentry to plumbing and small electrical repairs. We are looking to move in the spring of 2008. I would love to receive any feedback! ![]() Thank you so much! BKP P.S.: Are there any Germans??? ![]() |

They are only 2 miles apart. Cherokee Village has a diverse group of people, mostly retired people from up north, but also thee are some families. There are virtually no jobs, but if your fiancee can do that type of work, you should be fine. There are lots and lots of houses there so you should have no trouble finding painting jobs. There is not much to do. I don't know what your price range is--i would suggest renting first--you can rent a house from $350-$500, all depends on how "fancy" you want to get.

if you like nature especially trout fishing, you will love Hardy. It is a "dry" county but only 15 milesw or so to the Missouri border to buy alcohol. Every time i go there to fish, i have been treated wonderfully.

Hi everyone. When a thread is locked because of "trolling", what does that mean?

Here's the best link to info on trolls I've seen...and incidentally, a post has to be taken in context - if someone just posts a negative view but has been a benefit to C-D otherwise, maybe they just had a bad experience. However, if we can track one person or one identity's posts and see a pattern of troublemaking, it's a pretty sure sign they have issues...and we can track a lot. Troll (Internet) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia If you have questions like this, the first place I would look is in the Terms of Service and FAQ's - if that isn't helpful, you can always post in the About the Forum section and someone usually has a very helpful explanation on how it all works!
