1,400 people per square mile!!
Let sample a few others:
Dallas: 3,551 people per square mile,
Atlanta: 3,617 people per square mile,
Houston: 3,655 people per square mile
Seattle: 6,866 people per square mile,
Los Angeles: 8,201 people per square mile,
And too top it off here is the main reason I came to Arkansas!
Miami:10,838 people per square mile!!!
Maybe the people saying this is overcrowded live in really tiny towns? But as you can tell, it could be alot worse.

Good point, but I'm not used to. To me, it is overcrowded. Overcrowded is subjective. If I've lived in one of those cities listed above, then yes, NWA would be a dream. I've never lived in a town bigger than 100,000 (the most was 81,000) so yes, its still overcrowded to me. Just because I'm not from a city with a million people in it doesn't mean I can't feel out of my comfort level.

I'm looking at moving to Rogers from northwestern Wisconsin. My daughter lives in Centerton and loves it. We (my husband and I) have only been to visit a couple of times but found the people and the place wonderful and inviting. We are tired of freezing to death in the winter (it is -7 today with a wind chill) and sweating to death in the summer (usually 90 degrees with 100 % humity and dewpoints are around 80 %. We have lived in 8 different states and find all have good points and bad. Wisconsin is beautiful if you can stand the high cost of living and the weather. For us we would like to hear more about the northwest corner of Arkansas from people who like it.

Ms. Laci,
You will find alot of similarities between NW Arkansas and NW Wisconsin. Alot of forest and alot of water. Alot of wildlife also.If you are into outdoor recreation ie;fishing hunting or any type of watersport, you will be pleased with the Rogers area. Of course you will find mountains in Arkansas. You will find friendly, helpful people. At least they have always been that way to me. I am a bit confused by your statement about the humidity in NW Wisconsin though. I didnt realize it got that humid up there. i have fished Iron River and Eagle river alot and never found it to be humid. You may be in for a surprise because if you think Wisconsin is humid, wait til ya spend a summer in Dixie! The other big difference is you may find alot of areas in Arkansas where you will have to drive a bit to buy alcohol.Good luck!!

I can understand why some of the people here might feel like it is overcrowded. If you have never lived anywhere with a high population like the cities I mentioned, then yes, NWA is getting cramped for you. Personally, having lived in the hell they call Miami, NWA is the perfect size for me. I couldnt see myself living in smaller area like the ones I have seen in SW Arkansas. Here, there is still some rural feel to the area and some city too.
But hey, to each his own.

My wife and I, both former teachers, relocated from the LaCrose area 3 years ago...we LOVE it here. You can always visit the cold. We live in Bella Vista..lots of Wisconsin transplants here.

of course it is subjective to a point, but facts are facts. No, NW AR is not overcrowded.

Yes it is. To me it is.
Subjective to a point still means that it can be overcrowded to some people.
You won't win this, so leave well enough alone. We'll just be arguing semantics from this point on and you'll never win that.

I can totally understand. If I came from Miami, NWA would be perfect. But I came from North Platte, Nebraska.
Isolation to the nth degree, haha. I appreciate your intelligent response, though.
