Northwest Arkansas Is Horrible.
I do not know why Northwest Arkansas is so popular, the people there are mean and rude, the traffic is terrible(everywhere you go there is traffic and road construction further making getting around terrible), natives are getting their homes taken away left and right in the name of big business, the area is being overrun by illegal aliens, it's horrible. In NWA it is all about making money and no one cares about anybody else except for themselves. Bella Vista is the worst with all of those old snoots from the north. I have recently moved back to Benton from Rogers and I will never live in NWA again and I encourage any decent people who sees this message to never move there.

What utter complete hatemongering..people getting their houses taken away left and right??? Please. For Arkansas, yes the traffic can get bad during rush hour but most other times of the day it's cake. And really, the rush hour traffic isn't THAT bad unless you're trying to get off 540 onto 6th street! I was just up there a couple of weeks ago and drove all over the Fayetteville area both during normal working hours and during rush hour. I left in 2001 and I'd move back to Washington county in a heartbeat! Now..I wouldn't live in Benton Co. but that's just me.

Then I'm going to have to officially disagree
I live in LR now and I'm very happy, but if I had as good a job in NWA, I'd love to live there again.

I wouldn't say that NWA is "horrible", but the region isn't very cultured at all and a young single person may not find many things there to keep them entertained. I lived there for four years, and there is no way I could live there for a lifetime.

Cultured?
What, because it isn't Manhattan? I hate to tell you, but it's a heck of a lot more upscale and large than a what a lot of us young single folk have seen.
My problem with the area even when I just visited wasn't being entertained or bored, it was that everything was too fast, too much, too many people. It nearly drove me crazy. I just don't see how people can stand that much traffic on a daily basis.
And I don't want to hear from anyone about how the traffic in NWA is "not that bad." I couldn't even go eat anywhere without having 50 people ahead of me in line.
I wanted to teach up there, but after a trip, once was enough. I went with my family a couple years ago, but it's a whole different story when you're the one driving.
I'm still trying to figure out why I'm in a Southern state yet I walked around feeling like I was the only person in town with a Southern accent.

Well, I won't really comment on restaurant's. People in NWA do LOVE to go out to eat it seems but I was talking about road traffic. 540 in Fayetteville jacks up every single day during rush hour guaranteed and that sucks but it still doesn't take more than 15 minutes or so to get from the north side to the south side. During the middle of the day, traffic really doesn't compare to real urban areas.
On the accents..I never considered NWA to the be southern even when I was growing up near Harrison. I don't really know what to consider it. It's kinda Mid-western..but not really.

I have heard people describe NWA as North Dallas in Arkansas. Aside from population density, that may not be far from the truth.

It is just another haven for illegal aliens. Multiculturalism brings the blessings of crime, diversity and denial. Remember the multicultural signature line people,... Diversity is our strength (and your weakness!)
