Question Baptist Health Med Center

I am moving to the area for a job at the med center and was wondering if the area on Kanis and across from Baptist is an o.k. neighborhood. It seems really close. I don't have any kids and am from Houston area and want something close enough to walk. I am looking to buy.

Thanks

No. Go north across I-630, or west at least as far as Shackleford. Do not go south. I think it's a little marginal at best. It's called the Barrow Addition - read the police beat and you will change your mind.

Sam I Am is right... That neighborhood is "ok", but it is just a little too close to the rough neighborhoods for my comfort. Look north of I-630 or west of I-430.

I agree that you do not want to live to the south, east, or west of BHMC. There are nice neighborhoods just north of the hospital, modestly priced, attractive and safe. You will love Baptist. I worked there for almost thirty years, and I never encountered another hospital operation run as well. I was glad to leave Arkansas, but I miss all my friends at BHMC.
