I have had a terrible time finding a rental in the heights/hillrest area. Were looking for a 3/2 house. We wanted to be in that area because of the unique homes and just being able to walk to everything. I have run into so many dead ends. I had know idea it as so difficult to find a home. Were now looking towards west little rock. anyone have any thoughts on woodlands edge? What schools are in that area? Any thoughts would be appreciated

Giggler, you will have a difficult time in the Heights, maybe not so much in Hillcrest. Bear in mind that a lot of those homes don't even make the paper - they are snatched up by someone who heard from a friend of a friend. However, there are some property management companies that will handle things through there and some you don't want to deal with, too. Your best bet is to drive if you are already there. Rentals are pretty slow this time of year, too. I would contact some of the realty agencies that are prominent in that area and see if they have a property management division for rentals. If not, it's word of mouth a lot of the time. Most folks in the Heights are owners and I'd say the biggest portion in Hillcrest too, so it may take a while. If that's really where you want to rent, consider getting an apartment and holding tight. I would imagine it will break some in the spring when everyone does the housing shift. The rental market is tight right now in the really great areas since the mortgage market isn't so great. Try Janet Jones Co., although I don't think they manage rentals - also Val Hansen and Crye-Leike. Rector Phillips Morse had one on Cantrell and one on North Coolidge just recently. See if you can get on a waiting list if nothing is available. Once they know you are serious you may have a chance!
