Where the heck are those nasty neighborhoods out off of Wedington?!?! Those are all good middle class areas! Sure that community behind the new center with Penguin Ed's isn't the most well kept anymore but those are still some decent homes for many people. The worst neighborhoods in Fayetteville are around what's now being called the Mill District and out near the industrial park (go figure...). I even used to live out there and they are FAR from dangerous by my standards!

Sam, now that most of Garland is shut down through the UA, the WSW's have free reign and it isn't nearly so dangerous.

Well, I did not know that! I was up there ... gosh, a couple of years ago for a Pat Green concert at George's and thought about offering to give the walkers a ride on my hood since that's where they were anyway! It was a bad day when automakers did away with the running board.... (another joke)...

5th Wave is on a distinguished road
Can anyone please tell me which community behind Penguin Eds is not kept up well anymore? I am new to the area and trying to get information before buying a home - we would be looking on the west side of Fayetteville to buy...thanks!

There is virtually no crime if you are comparing Fayetteville to LA, Houston, or NY. The element does not exist in Fayetteville.

I have lived near Fayetteville my whole life (27 years), and I have honestly never felt unsafe living here. Yes there is going to be some crime, but as a whole Fayetteville is very safe. I live in the Farmington area (5 mins) from Fayetteville, and I still leave my house unlocked and keys in my car etc.

And yes you still have to watch out of the U of A students (I drive through there every day), they seem to think that just because there is a crosswalk, it means they don't need to watch for cars. Sometimes you just cant stop on a dime even if you are paying close attention.

Default well

I grew up in Fayetteville and lived there until i was 18, and i moved to Seattle where i currently live. Fay. is a very safe town and you can go almost anywhere and not have to worry. But in the last couple years there have been a couple of murders in some apartments close to greg st kind of close to north st. People say its people that had to relocate to Fay. from New Orleans when Hurricane Catrina hit. I'm not sure if thats true, but that is when some murders occured. Also in some apartment buildings close to 6th street there can be drug users living around you so just be aware. But i definately felt more safe anywhere in Fayetteville than i do in Seattle for obvious reasons, Seattle is a much larger area. Of course, Fay is a lot more boring too

I have lived in one the "dangerous" areas in Fayetteville. Those "nasty" areas Off Wedington Dr. as well as greg St. I never had any problems even in those areas. I would agree that most of my neighbors were just good middle class people. In my opinion even the worst areas of Fayetteville are mild in comparison to most places.
