so that makes it the white river, which runs into the arkansas river a little further downstream. that is a beautiful trip down river, as it flows through the white river refuge area. (made that trip on a houseboat several years ago) once you get to the arkansas river, you are just a few miles from the mississippi river. the arkansas river is actually connected to the white river by a man made canal, for navigation purposes. the destinations are just about endless, from clarendon, by water.

i just saw a news report this week, where a farmer had lost his cell phone in a grain silo last year and it ended up in japan this year. (probably made the trip by barge)

As I was driving back from the Dogwood Canyon Nature Park in Missouri, I decided to stop by the chapel simply to take a picture.

O.K. slingshot, a great photo but you've done it now by stirring up these old memory banks A very long time ago I walked about every square yard of those mountains.

Berenice, you hang around long enough, taking those great photos, and we will start calling you an Arkie with a Brit accent, and it will be intended as a compliment .

Old Fossil, I would move to Arkansas if I could. I'm not even allowed to enter the Green Card Lottery.

Star City.

Thanks for the reply, Old Fossil. Once I recover from this total knee replacement I'll see if I can capture some more pics from around town for ya.
