Short List
Kind Ladies and Gentlemen,
I've been doing research because I am planning to relocate from L.A. to Arkansas. I've been reading the threads and even though there's a lot of negativity, I've read a lot of positive things as well. I'm actually looking forward to my move next year. (yes I'm giving myself lots of research time)
So far these areas appeal to me. Any information, good and bad, is greatly appreciated:
*Little Rock *Texarkana
*North Little Rock * West Memphis
*Jonesboro * Blytheville
*Conway * Camden
*Hot Springs * Newport
*Jacksonville *Stuttgart
*Sherwood *England
*Crossett *Hope
*Wynne * Magnolia
*Malvern *Monticello
*Warren *Clarendon
Thanks again!

I think you have left the best part of Arkansas off your list. The NW corner of the state and heading south down US hwy 71 all the way to Mena. Beautiful scenery. Mtns. lakes rivers. Nice people and beautiful women every where.

I agree. The NW corner is best. I was born and raised there.
Also..you want to stay away from N. Little Rock and West Memphis.

Adding to the list
Thank you. This is exactly why I posted my list. It's hard to research an area from 1600 miles away.

Fayetteville northward through Bella Vista is the area you want to look at. Steer away from Ft. Smith down to Mena. Little Rock/Central Arkansas isn't bad either despite what people in NWA will tell you. There is sort of a sibling rivalry between those two areas. East and SE Arkansas are the areas you really want to avoid, as they are very poor and high in crime. If you want the Memphis metro, you're better off on the Tennessee side.

This is EXACTLY why the the Little Rock Metro and Northwest Arkansas should have their own subforums. A poster specifically asks for information about certain parts of the state, then the NWA folks have to throw in their same old rhetoric about how NWA is like heaven on Earth. NWA would be like NEA if it wasn't for Wal-Mart.

And in the same post they always bash Little Rock. People in NWA generally have an unexplained disgust toward our state capital and its metro.

They feel like the red-headed step child. I used to feel that way as well.
