Hello. Does anybody have any information on the area of Parkin. Is it a safe town? Any other areas inexpensive around the Memphis surrounding areas? Thank you

I can't believe that someone is actually interested in Parkin. Parkin was already a dying town and when the state closed down the Parkin School District a couple years ago, Parkin died instantly. The 2000 census has Parkin at 1,602, but I wouldn't be surprised if it is half that right now. Everyone in Parkin is now trying to move to Wynne, AR since children in Parkin are now bused to Wynne schools. If you are just dying to live in a rural community in this area, I would consider somewhere like Wynne or Trumann. I would say Marion, AR, but Marion is basically a suburb of Memphis and it has become quite expensive to live there.

I just was trying to find info on the area. I seen a few properties cheap their to buy. I am looking for a very inexpensive place within a 30 minute drive to Memphis.

It's inexpensive for a reason. There's nothing there, and less of that every day. If you do buy something, it'll be a property you can pass down to your kids and grandkids, because it'll be a miracle if you (or they) ever manage to sell it. I can understand the appeal of cheap, but for some things, free is too expensive.
