Does anyone know the answer to this?

I was unemployed from 9/1/2016 to 11/7/2016. During this time I did not file for unemployment, so I am wondering how this will effect my filing income taxes? I went for basically 8 weeks without income- but don't know if I will be able to claim that since I did not file for unemployment.

They just look at the total income made- not when. You could have made it all in one day, as far as they care.

I agree with Wes. File on earned income and don't worry about it. Good luck. Mine is about ready, thank goodness

Agree, it doesn't matter when the money was earned, it's just the total earned for 2016. I did mine yesterday.

We usually have to file at least 3 states due to husbands work type. It's fairly easy to complete various states when using one of the programs like Turbo Tax. Just remember the first filing for Arkansas must be printed and mailed in. After that, you can E-file.

Thanks. I will try and add that to the 500 other things I need to remember to do between getting there and tax season. I am starting to really have disappointment that there are no mountains in Texas that fit my desires...
