Airports in North Central AR
Hi folks!! My wife and I are moving to Horseshoe Bend in the upcoming months. I was wondering if there is any smaller airports that have commercial flights that might go to Little Rock or Memphis as a connecting flight? Is there anything to find for this kind of airport near Horseshoe Bend? How about Mountian Home? Jonesborro? Batesville? or maybe up into MO to a larger city?
Is there any small private planes that can be "rented" for getting to the bigger airports? What do some of you do for air travel???
Many thanks in advance!!

My dad has flown out of Harrison before but I'm not sure what airport they normally go into to catch a real flight. The new Branson airport should be opening soon as well and I believe it will be a regional airport.

Horseshoe Bend has a small airport, for small private planes. There is Mesa Airlines out of Harrison. We too, are moving to Horseshoe Bend. Beautiful town.

Harrison and Fayetteville are a pretty good hike from Horseshoe Bend, plus its driving into the hills...pretty tough to get good drive time driving west in AR..hehehe
I was hoping to find a small jumper plane somewhere in Mountian Home, Jonesboro, or anywhere closer to HSB so I'd save the drive to memphis or little rock.
I spoke to a very nice fellow at a Las Vegas trade show this past Feb. who was a private pilot from Fayetteville. He told me my best bet is to drive to Memphis over the drive to Little Rock to find a larger airport.
i just might have to find a fly-boy buddy in Horseshoe Bend to get me that jumper flight to the bigger airports.
>>>>I was down in Batesville last summer and did notice small double prop passenger aircraft at the airport......anyone know if what I saw was really passenger aircraft?
"autumn trails"....you are not kidding about Horseshoe.....We cant wait to get there!!! All I have to do is lose my "yankee" accent!!!

Mesa is a Northwest affiliate and will probably take you to their main hub in Memphis.

When you said Horseshoe Bend I automatically assumed the one I was immediately familiar with on Bull Shoals near Lead Hill! Thus my recommendations of Harrison or Branson. There are probably several places in AR called Horseshoe Bend.

Horseshoe, Maybe your real-estate agent can recommend someone local. Good luck.
We also can't wait to get there. We still have a few months to go yet. We're in the process of selling our home.
Btw, I have a yankee accent too.
