Just heard from family in Jonesboro that Richardson might be named the new men's B-ball coach at ASU during a press conference tonight. Just wondering what Razorback fans and A-State fans think...if this does turn out to be true?!

I'm a Hog fan and I think this is the most fantastic news I've heard for Arkansas sports in many a moon!!! Nolan said earlier in the week he had been talking to ASU about it and I've been anxiously awaiting this! We need another school to step into the limelight and give the Hogs a good run for hearts of Arkansas. This will be nothing but good. Here's to another Arkansas NCAA championship within 10 years, only for the Wolves and not the Hogs!

I was a closet ASU fan growing up, though I usually rooted for the Memphis Tigers. While Nolan isn't exactly my favorite character, I think it will be good for ASU's recruiting department to have a big name coach to promote. Arkansas badly needs in-state, or even somewhat local, competition in the NCAA Division 1 department. It makes it more fun for rivalry games when the visiting team can have a good crowd.

Yep! Totally agree. And now maybe with Frankie gone, the Hogs might actually get to play ASU! That's something we've been needing to do for a LONG time.

Yeah, I've always wondered why ASU and the Hogs don't play each other in football. They've Been D-1 now for close to 20 years.

I've always heard that the two playing wouldn't happen until Frank retired. The best games at the old fieldhouse were always against the then Memphis State Tigers ala Keith Lee and in the convo center against the Tigers and UALR. If it happens, ticket sales and fan support would get a huge boost.

I kinda wonder if it won't in reality take his death. While he's now technically retired, he still retains a LOT of power in his fundraiser position. While I hope our new AD will be willing to schedule a UA-ASU matchup, I won't be surprised if it doesn't happen.

hiring a big name coach with" baggage" sometimes works (Texas Tech-Bobby Knight) sometimes doesn't (Indiana-Sampson)
