Something has to be done about people having no respect for others, authority, for seniors or not respecting people's rights. Let us not carry "freedom of speech too far" We have the right to speak our minds, but we much realize their is a price to pay and consequences as well.

I don't support destruction of property like this. At the same time, I think the state's little games with approving this monument, then passing a law making any other monuments a virtual impossibility, was wrong. Just put religious monuments on private property.

Looks as if the alleged perp. did the same thing to a similar monument on the state capitol grounds in Oklahoma City recently. Fellow seems to be a bit of a nut-case.

I think this monument would have been more acceptable had it been on either private grounds, or been where it was but accompanied by other monuments to classic laws - Hammurabi's Code, the Magna Carta, perhaps the Constitution (though that would take a big monument, as might the others suggested), and so on.

Focus would have been on law, not religion, that way.

It doesn't really matter what your thoughts are on the monument, but the fact that this person thought it was his right to destroy it, obviously because he didn't agree with it.

So you think it was okay what this man did? Be specific, don't just drop a few words and run.

If we go by the events in Oklahoma, this person is mentally ill. It's not that he thought it was his right to destroy it, but evidently his schizophrenia compels him.
