We are looking at a potential move to Arkansas for my job, the job would either be located in Little Rock or Pine Bluffs. I donít have a ton of interest in staying in either one of these towns. I know that this question has been on here before but I havenít found one that has posts from the last five years. What are the best areas to live in around these cities? We have small children so good schools and low crime are the two most important things for us. Also, what kind of critters will we be running across, we love to explore new kinds of creepy crawlies and New Mexico has given us plenty of opportunity for this, wondering what we will see in Arkansas. Thanks in advance

Stay far, far away from Pine Bluff. Don't even give it any consideration.

I wouldn't recommend, and NO ONE would either, living in Crime Bluff. There are nice places around the rock to live (Sherwood, Maumelle), and near PB (Monticello). Good luck.

I guess you have your answer. Little Rock has some awesome areas, especially the burbs with decent schools, certainly as good as any in NM. Pine Bluff as sad as it is should be avoided at all costs; enough said. I will add it is sad cause it used to be a wonderful little town. Let me also add, we lived in ABQ for 7 years. I would take AR anytime over NM. There are some wonderful things about NM. I do not regret our 7 years there, but am glad we made the move. The only drawback is the weather. It is fine here but ABQ has the best there is. Of course I do not know where you live in NM. Good luck and keep an open mind.

1. Buy, lease, rent?
2. Price range for any of the above?
3. Distance willing to drive to work?
4. Recreational interest in addition to "critters"?

If you can answer those, that will help us help you. Welcome to The Natural State

Oh, I should also asked the area of your work-place?

See the above Thread about "Cammarack area" and Little Rock has a new Web Site; LittleRock.com
