What is the most liberal city in Arkansas...Eureka Springs?

Probably Little Rock/ NLR.

Even Eureka Springs has their conservative crowd. They made a stink about the domestic partnership registry.

City? ES is pretty small, but I'd say it's the most liberal community in the state. I forgot the vote tally, but it was overwhelming Democratic in 2008. Still well under 2000 votes cast, however, so I wouldn't call it a city.

LR is probably the most liberal "city" overall. Even withstanding the large minority population, it's pretty liberal. Many nonprofits, a few tech companies, Democratic history in general, high educational levels, and diversity. I'm in the area right now and I see dozens of Obama stickers in midtown and downtown.

Fayetteville's next, for similar reasons.

I am tired of living in Fort Smith-Van Buren. For me, it is absolutely horrible. I don't consider myself to be that liberal, but the cities outside of Arkansas that I have lived in, that l liked, are commonly considered to be liberal cities. I guess I would rather complain about liberals than...well the people I meet here. I live close to Oklahoma, but to me Oklahoma is even worse. I liked the Hillcrest area in Little Rock. Any other places. Eureka Springs is too much of tourist area to move to.

Yeah, Eureka Springs is VERY touristy.

I would mostly stick with Little Rock and North Little Rock.
Fayettville has been rumored to be liberal.

Fayetteville IS liberal. The city itself went Obama.

Little Rock overall, though I think Fayetteville has a slight edge for social liberalism. That said, liberal by Arkansas standards is still pretty conservative by national standards.

I don't want to get into a debate about what is liberal or not liberal...the definition that I would give would be probably different than yours or the next person. I guess an extreme example, in my mind would be San Francisco, and then there are places like Boulder, Colorado...Austin, Texas, and a lot of cities in New England. I think at the very basic level they would have to be majority democrat. The more yellow dog democrats they have probably the more liberal they are...by my definition.

I know everyone defines liberal differently so I just wanted to see how you defined it.
Our Democrats here are not exactly the Democrats you would find elsewhere. A lot of them seem to just be Republicans with a D next to their name.

Yes, I think that is probably true to some extent. I have heard of three different types of democrats that I think is fairly accurate.

Blue dog democrat- which to me is about the same thing as a moderate Republican.

DixieCrat- Don't see many of them any more because they have almost entirely gone over to the Republican party with the civil rights acts

Yellow Dog democrat - Most liberal. "Would vote for a yellow dog before they would vote for a republican".
