I may have said my share of things about Northwest Arkansas, but I've not checked the salary schedule lately. I know it costs more to live up there, but what the heck is with a 10,000 dollar difference in pay between here and there? I know Russellville isn't huge, but that is a LOT of money if you're a teacher. Especially if I add National Board Certification to it. I just never knew they've gotten up that high.
I know we can talk about comparable salary, but 35,000 is still a lot less compared to 50,000, smaller town or not...especially if I'm say married and have two incomes. Russellville home prices are going up as we speak with the amount of people we have here. So it's making me wonder what's worth it. Who wants to be my new Northwest Arkansas friend? ![]() |

I want to add to that first post that I'm not thinking of moving up there anytime soon, I just find it amazing they are making so much more up there. I'm hoping it's because of cost of living adjustment. If it is, things must be really getting expensive now for you guys.

Problem is, I'm not sure that's like making 33K here in the River Valley, when it really boils down to it. But still, for this state, that's high. Makes me wonder how much everything really costs in the NWA area. |

is there a link that states starting teachers make $43,000 in NWA?
In St Cloud MN-------higher cost of living and higher wages across the board------starting teachers make about $31,000. Is that --$43,000 -- wage for starting teachers in NWA accurate ? |
