ok, Compton probably isn't any worse than Pine Bluff but at least Pine Bluff is prettier. Of course if you haven't closed, like Holly said run as fast as you can, but it sounds like you have. So now it is simply procede with caution.

1Patois,
I had come to the conclusion you must be trolling. You seem very educated on many areas of the country and are very opinionated on those areas, so it would not make sense that you would invest in property in Pine Bluff and not understand where you bought. It's as if you just wanted to see what the reactions would be of those in AR.

They dont call it crime Bluff for a reason. HS may have crime issues, but PB has the worst homicides every year and majority of its bad drug deals gone bad. You cant walk anywhere in the town it self and not see the thug life wannabes that terrorize the town. Lack of jobs, lack of anybody with common sense, and lack of self respect hurts it. Good luck, and bars on windows are not a good sign.

Gimme a break with all the trash talk. 1Patois, get your concealed carry and be aware of what is going on. Enjoy your new adventure!

I have worked in areas on the south side of Chicago including Cook County Jail. Pine Bluff is the ***** palace comparatively to the Chicago hood. I don't care where you live. You need to be ready to defend yourself with overwhelming force. Violent crime happens in all population centers. It matters not if it's 1 or a hundred when your family member is the 1. Be prepared and enjoy life!

Well when you compare it to one of the most dangerous cities in the country, it doesn't look so bad. Thanks for that.

Well, I have lived and worked in the delta area of southeast ark for decades. ( I still maintain a home and a business in southeast ark) While I don't live in pine bluff, I do know the area well. If you lived in Compton, Baton Rouge and New Orleans, you should have the skills to survive in little old pine bluff. Just my opinion. Oh, and they have a great regional hospital, which serves most of southeast Arkansas. They also have two golf courses, so there must be enough non thugs to support that! One of the strongest regional banks in all of Arkansas has their home offices located in pine bluff. a chef, that is the current "chef of the year" in Arkansas, (this is his third time to win) has a restaurant and banquet facilities in pine bluff.

So, pine bluff is not growing like some areas of the state, but it is not necessarily the terrible place that some describe. I would like to hear your opinion, once you move there.

oh heavens yes. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, our kids were born in areas near Compton. We used to buy our meat at a butcher in Compton and our first home was in the curfew area during the Watts riots. I will admit it has been many years since we have been in or near Compton. From what I have read and heard Compton has improved some in the past 10 or so years.
