There's also KFAY (1030) and KURM (790), and the latter is about as local as you can get. And, if you'd like, Tulsa's KRMG (740) is a fantastic news/talk station in that market and way better than anything you can get in Little Rock. They have lots of listeners in Arkansas, and it's a favorite of mine when I go to Tulsa. If their signal is picked up in Harrison, then that would be a great alternative to the aforementioned channels.

Hope this helps some.

That is generally true, but now and then there are exceptions,
(I have heard AM stations from across the country at certain times)
so I will give a couple of them a try, anyway.

I was thinking the same thing. When I think of NWA and local news for instance I think Benton Co, Madison co, Wa county and a few others but not places like Mountain Home and Harrison. Oh, Ft Smith would be somewhere else that is covered by our local news and weather.

Right, and even if you were able to pick up any of those stations, they will not be local news to your area, which is what you were asking for. In fact, you're much closer to Springfield MO than NWA and Tulsa.

I had to go look at a map to see.

A South of Harrison is about center of the area I have interest in
(I have family scattered all over that region) and from there
Fayetteville and Springfield are not much different in distance.

And, yes, Tulsa is too far for the local stuff. I see Case44 lists it
as a place to get talk radio, and the coverage map shows Harrison
is in its fringe coverage, but I think I'll look for Talk Radio on
a different station.

As I said before, this is enough to keep me busy for a while,
checking the stations out and finding newspapers.

If the Lord is willing, I will post back here on this thread
every few weeks with what I find.
