Good observation: I had never thought of it as a "3" season town, but that is a great way to put it. The town will become pretty deserted in just a few more weeks: mid Nov until early or mid March. It is great time to visit as it isn't a mad house like the summer months.

Don't they have Christmas lights in ES as a draw until after Christmas?

We so enjoyed our Thanksgiving trip to North AR last year, we are returning this Thanksgiving. We did spend a day in ER last year shopping Black Friday. The town was very busy and we had a great time. All shops were open. This year I am taking my two sons to Bull Shoals to fish BS lake and the White River as a men's trip. I can hardly wait.

ES is a shopping town. Very small and dedicated to shopping. HS is more like a city. I saw no comparisons in our visits. Both were nice but I admit I like Northern AR better than any other area I have ever visited, so I am prejudiced.

Well, we're leaving next week! I appreciate everyone's responses. I'm disappointed though. Wife and I was just talking about going to a drive in movie. We never went to one. She's never seen one and I recall a very old one south of Lake Charles when I was a kid. Have No clue where exactly it was but I'm sure it's not there anymore. But.........saw that Fayetteville had one. But will be closed day before we arrive!!! Think we might try Marshall. Don't know if there's another closer.

Just can't wait to head up there!!
