Lidl may have problems expanding in the United States. It opened many stores quickly. Those stores have not performed up to Lidl's expectations. Plans for additional stores and distribution centers have been delayed and cancelled.

absolutely not the same company by any means. They are owned by the same family but very different companies. In fact originally they were owned by different brothers. Both have now passed away. One died about 5 years ago, the other more recently. They are even geared to different types of shoppers.
