What types of things are you interested in?
Do you attend church? What denomination? The Bentonville library is nice and they have good kids programs there. The Roger's library is decent too. There are many nice parks to frequent. The Lewis & Clark Outfitters (in Rogers and Springdale) has a rock wall to climb, if you are into that. The camping and hiking opportunities is pretty much endless in this area. The Rogers Activity Center has a decent splash park by it, I take my girls there during the summers. Bentonville has a city pool that is nice and you can get a family pass that is very reasonable. The Springdale Aquatic center has a MUCH nicer kiddie pool though, but it is also more $$ to get in. |

Thanks for your reply! I am interested in running and other outdoor activities... used to be on the track team in college and would love to get back into that after I have my baby. I thought it would be nice to join a mom's running/ exercise group or something like that... Here in San Jose, we have mom stroller exercise groups... do you know if those are around in Bentonville? They are a great way to work out while bringing your baby...
I'd also be interested in mom's groups with fun activities like mom's night outs and things for moms to do without their kids too... ![]() I also am interested in art and creative activities... No, I don't go to church and am not religious at all... The Bentonville library sounds great and I will definitely check that out... always like to be a part of great community activities for the kids... I will also definitely check out the pools, as I'd like to get my daughter in swim lessons again for the summer/fall... Thanks again for your response... your ideas are very helpful and much appreciated! |

There is a Stroller Strides in Fayetteville, but I am not for sure about Bentonville. If you want to send me a message I can tell you about some playgroups that I know about.

I know this is a little tardy compared to others but as a mother from the area I wanted to make sure you knew about the Jones Center in Springdale. All activities are free from ice skating and indoor swimming (with a big water slide) to crafts for kids and movies that are family friendly. They even have free child classes with trained staff (and first aide certified)to teach crafts or skills while you have date nite with your hubby. There is an outdoor jog track and playground with a disc golf course and even a farmers market on weekends for organic produce and local crafts. I would gladly pay to treat my kids to this wonderful resource but have to make a donation because it' s all free. You do have to reserve tickets for skating or swimming in case it's busy. Also Jones Center is truly multicultural with groups from all over the world (some I had never even heard of) meeting for games or fun. Sorry this post was so long I didn;t even get into the gym ...or ball courts...indoor track...

Thank you for the last two posts... I really appreciate specifics on places to take kids for fun... calms me a bit to know that there are plenty of great things to do there! I just hope it doesn't take too long to make friends for myself and my daughter! Plus, I will be giving birth probably a few months after moving there which makes me more anxious!!

This website will help you immensely! I love it! It's a guide for living in NWA w/ kids...keeps you updated w/ ALL activities! ![]() We moved here last August from Houston and it has been wonderful in every way! I, too, was near the end of a pregnancy (my 4th child) when we moved and it was very important to find a good ob/gyn quickly! If you need a good dr....I have one! He delivers at the new hospital that opened last month...it's beautiful! There is a stroller fitness class that meets at 9:30am each morning at the pool...here in Bentonville. I can give you more info. when you are ready to join. Welcome! |
