I don't mean this to sound racist in any way, but last week we were eating at I hop in Rogers, we were in a small room with 3 other tables: all were speaking spanish. I was a bit taken back, I almost thought I was back in NM.

Default Moving to Bentonville

My first daring move in years was to Bentonville from my hometown in Southeast Missouri without my husband, and took the three youngest of my five with me.

Traffic is horrible horrible horrible. But they are working on it. Too many people during business hours and not fast enough with the infrastructure. But, after the business rush is gone, the nights and weekends are wonderful.

I love downtown on the weekends. Look for the free ads and check out the newspaper ads ... get acclimated with maps from the visitor center close to downtown, they are nice folks. Get a library card, too. Arvest bank seems like it is abundant for the area as well as many more banks. Websites for the area have nice interest sections, too.

I was only there for four months...my husband's transfer only got him as close as Springfield, MO, so I had to find a job in Springfield. My children still go down to Bentonville on the weekends and now for summer break. It was easy for them to make friends there. No cliques at school that we witnessed. Practically everyone is a transplant, so friends were easy to make....lifelong friends.

Wish you the best. I am still considering going back to the Bentonville/Rogers area. It is quite the eclectic lifestyle. Diversity is definately prime. Sushi bars and mexican restaurants everywhere. Beaver creek is awesome as well as Eureka Springs to go visit on weekends too.
