I posted earlier about being a mom and possibly relocating to Bentonville. One thing I'd really like to know is how former Californians, particulary from the San Francisco Bay Area, are liking it in Northwest Arkansas? Are there lots of people who have moved from Calif. and are others receptive of Californians? Also, I am not religious at all... would this be viewed as a negative thing by people who live in the Bentonville area? THanks for all feedback... much appreciated!

I know a few people that have moved from Ca to NWA and they love it.They say life is alot more easy there and have no regrets about it. I have not heard of bad receptive from the locals. We have our fair share of Californians here in Lake Havasu they are not all bad.

Well, I've never even been to California, but my newest neighbor moved here to NWA from California in January. She is loving it so far - likes the slower pace and LOVES how much house she got for the money!!
As far as religion goes, we are kind of right in the middle of the "Bible belt". There are churches everywhere, but I don't think that has anything to do with fitting in. People are SO nice, relaxed, and down-to-earth here. Maybe that's because they are church goers. Personally, I'm not a fan of "religion". I do, though, have a personal relationship with Christ. For me, it's not about traditioin, ceremony, or religious practices. It's about believing in Jesus for salvation. I go to church to simply learn more and make friends. That will be totally up to you, and I don't believe the majority of people here are snooty or would look down on you ~ I think you're safe in that respect!! Good luck! |
