Hey everyone! I could really use some help/advice. I have done a lot of research but when I think I narrow down a location, it ends up being a no-go.

My wife and I want to relocate to a different state. We honestly do not care where, as long as it hits our criteria.

This is what we're looking for:
* approximate population of around 10,000 or less (absolutely no more than 15,000)
* mild winters with little to no snow
* summers that aren't sweltering (low 90's are ok)
* no SEVERE storms
* LGBT friendly
* plenty of jobs for DSP's (working with mentally/behaviorally handicapped in group home setting)
* no breed specific bans (we have a pit bull mix)

Anyone know of ANYWHERE that meets these criteria?

Sounds like smaller towns around the Fayetteville metro area.

You may have problems with getting what you want almost anywhere. Here in AR, we have some of what you want but the summers will be closer to mid 90s with pretty hot nights. The humidity will be a big high for some, depending on what you are thinking. I know here in NWA we have a lot of towns that may work for you but those those under 10,000 are growing fairly fast and may soon be larger than you had hoped. LGBT would work in some of the smaller communities near Fayetteville, or you may want to research Eureka Springs. That sounds like a perfect match for most of what you are wanting.

Cross anywhere in Arkansas - or the south in general - off of your list based upon this alone.

Have you looked at maybe southwestern Colorado or northern New Mexico? My understanding that there are valleys in Colorado that don't get much snow. Not sure about Arizona or Utah, but specific locations might be ok.

There are a lot of towns around ABQ that would work. we lived in the area for 7 plus years and only got heavy snow once or twice and the summers, surprisingly are very mild. We did get days in the low to mid 90s but the nights are always mild and the swamp coolers keep the house comfortable. it was the thing we loved about NM: the weather.
