That's funny, I encountered the same folks on my way to Tulsa
Seriously they are everywhere, and since folks in NWA are mostly from ... everywhere, they all drive like crap. And then of course there are those who cannot even read the road signs....

So can we just say there are bad drivers everywhere, fast, slow, too mindful, not mindful enough? Geez...what a strange thread.

Is there something magical about the border between NWA and SEO that makes people change their driving habits? I see little difference in the 2 considering their proximity to each other.

I guess there is a difference. Half of those in NWA aren't really from the area and half of those that aren't are from south of the border. That does change the drivers a bit. The same was true of Dallas, where I used to live, and the drives were much worse there than, say, OKC, Tulsa, or Little Rock.

I know that to some of the people who have lived here there whole lives the driving in NWA has gotten worse. Yeah, there are alot of people from elsewhere with different driving habits and yeah, I have noticed some people in a big rush to get nowhere. But to someone who lived in the "#1 rudest drivers city" and "#1 Worst drivers city", NWA is like heaven. I barely use my horn here when I drive. In Miami, I had my hand inpression on the horn. Here, I dont have people cutting me off and causing me to run off the road. And when I do honk my horn at someone here they dont curse at me like it was my fault they cut me off. Yes, I know it could be and probably was alot better. But it could be a hell of alot worse.

So staying on your horn gets you there faster? Stay on your horn in LA and you'll meet people you might not want to meet!

Yeah, I have driven in L.A too, and your right. Same thing in Miami, the horn wont get you there faster but you cant help to honk at people that are barreling their car at you. But of course, you cant always honk at everyone cause you never know who that person is and what they are capable of.

I think you can find rude, crude and stupid drivers anywhere!
I feel that in order to renew one's drivers license, everyone should be required to retake their behind the wheel test everytime they renew their drivers license.
One place I didn't like the driving style was in Atlanta with all the tailgaters who allowed 1/2 of a car length between cars at 60 mph., they they wonder why they have accidents when there is a bit of bad weather. I'm not saying that all drivers in that area are stupid, just that they need to be more considerate and allow more space between cars. you'd just get rid of one of them, and there's another right on your bumper. I didn't care for their driving style, so I moved away from Atlanta.
Three other categories are: weary drivers and those who drive while their ability to drive is not up to par.., such as intoxicated or partially intoxicated drivers, drivers who don't pay attention to what they are doing because they are talking on their cell phones or are very tired.
My pet peeve is those who fail to signal prior to making a lane change or a turn. Or, those that absently mindedly put on their blinkers half way thru their lane change or turning maneuver!
Often I find, that it is better just to shrug it off and go on rather than to engage in road rage! You never know what the other driver will do. Sometimes they'll shoot at you if you really tick them off! Where I live, road rage is prosecutable in court.
