Default NWA Activities

Ok so I'm making this thread mainly to hype something I know of going on up there that I was instrumental in getting going but anyone can feel free to jump on and add something you know of that's happening in NWA.

My activity:

Northwest Arkansas Rovers Gaelic Athletic Association

It's a very small group thus far and just getting going, playing the Irish sport of Gaelic football in a fairly low contact mode. Gaelic football is like soccer but you get to carry the ball and scoring is much higher.

If soccer is the "beautiful game," gaelic football is like her cousin that's kinda hot but you'd only bed her after a couple drinks.

No one ever accused Gaelic of being more beautiful...but she sure is a lot more fun when you get her home...

They have a saying in Ireland, every lad starts life playing the proper Gaelic football, the ones who can't take a hit go play soccer.

Thought I'd post a link to some pictures that were taken of the first Gaelic football game to take place in the state Arkansas! Little Rock played Northwest Arkansas on Saturday in Fayetteville. NWA Fayetteville Bentonville Rogers

Prelor is on a distinguished road
Good pictures. You would expect a strong contingent of players from the University of Arkansas curious to play the game?

So far it's mostly transplants from other areas and their children. There's a strong Irish dance school in the area and most players found out about it from there so far. They got started a little late in the year to leverage the university. Hopefully this fall, they'll pack in a few more college kids.
