Default Vehicle Registration

Hi Everyone! I'm an Arkansas resident, living in Little Rock. I want to buy a new 2008 Toyota Prius on my trip, while in California. Why? It's a really great price since there is a higher demand in CA, the package I want is not available in our local area & I want to drive across the USA, stoping in NV, NM, OK.... My question is, since I have to pay sales tax in CA before I can drive it off the lot, will I get hit by a double sales tax whammy in AR?

Or does Arkansas waives sales tax at the time of registration since it was paid in CA? FYI, I searched on the Dept. of Finance & Admin to no avail.
It's not straightforward & I'm confused. Thanks for any advise.

i would call the dept of finance and admin, they can tell you over the phone if and how much you would have to pay. Im not familiar with CA sales tax, but when we bought a vehicle in TN, we didnt pay any sales tax there, only in AR.
