Since I moved here from out of town in 1990 with wife and 3 kids I wll tell you why we moved to bryant. Schools were #1 choice, and I will say this, they received a good education and were involved in sports , they are not perfect, there are drugs in all schools .We made many friends and it is a great place to live.My taxes on my 1900 sq. foot house, 3 bdr. 2.5 bath are about 850.00 a year. They will be higher in L R , or Maumelle. You can now get to downtown in 20 mins daily. You have many churches to choose from, we are now building a new 12 million $$ community center with swimming pool , fitness room, tennis etc. Population went from 6k to now over 18k. We have Walmart, Lowe's, Harvest foods grocery store, many new restaurants, Target, Kohl's, now buiding a Best Buy and Petco and other retail shops ,I think now about 8 motels. Benton has a Kroger, Office Depot, Home Depot and many others. Basically everything you need and not have to go to L R. Two great hospitals close by. Benton is also very good, maybe even cheaper because you can build the same house in Benton as you would in Bryant and it will be cheaper to build due to the higher cost in Bryant. I would not move inside pulaski county (Little Rock) because I don't like there politics and high taxes, and the schools are run by some real nut jobs in a power struggle. Best thing you can do is find a real estate agent and go see for yourself. I have a neighbor in real estate that would be glad to show you around our area. Within a one mile area you have just about everything you need and will save time and gas and be out of the big city, close enough if you need to go though. You would be about 30 mins from Hot Springs, and many lakes around here with an hour drive.
The number for the Bryant Chamber of Commerce is
501-315-8272
Good luck!!
