We said we figured it would take us about a year; how is that for timing?

Thanks for all your good wishes, I will keep you informed as the decision is made, probably in about 4 days.

That's wonderful! I'm so happy for you. I hope we can make it there in a couple years when I retire! If you happen to Mena, let me know what you think of the area. That is where we will be looking around. Our first visit is in August 2008, hoping to visit twice a year to look around. Our long term plan.

Default Welcome!

Congratulations! I just wanted to tell you that you really helped us when we were researching NW Arkansas last summer. We flew out in July, looked at 25 houses and bought the last one we looked at. We moved to BV Oct 1st (from Northern CA). I love it! My husband is still adjusting to retiring. He just got a job today. Hopefully, he will be happier now. BV is such a beautiful place to live. I am happy for you. Thanks for all your info in past posts. Welcome and let me know if I can be of any help! P.S. ( Everyone tells us that this past winter is not the norm! Thank goodness!)

I am sure I will need lots of help after we get settled. Hubby will probably look for a part time job, he just can't accept retirement, I will continue with my travel business as I have clients all over the country. Of course we will get involved in church and I can't wait to meet bridge players. We already know where to get our wine, part of our nightley routine.

I am so glad you like BV, we can hardly wait. 25 house has us beat, we looked at 17 in less than 24 hours.

Later,

Nita

Hi Nita!
Congratulations! And yes, what perfect timing. NWA is the perfect place to be in, and Bella Vista is like Heaven on Earth. My parents are interested in looking for a house there in about a year when they retire, so when you get all nested in, I might just drop you a line and pick your brain. Welcome to Arkansas!! Let me know if you want to do lunch in Springdale sometime. I can show you some awesome restaurants and even better shopping!! stephwilson72762@cox.net

Great news. Bella Vista is a beautiful place and I'm sure you'll love it there. That's easily my favorite residential part of the NWA metro.

By this time next month there will be a moving van in front of our house loading our funiture for its move to NWA. Then I think I will change my sign on to Arkggma

Nita,
Are you the same Nita as on Cruise Critic? I'm thinking you are, but wasn't sure. We're moving to AR in a couple of weeks from Nashville. Are you loving it so far?

I am one and the same and I do not have a split personality, I just am on lots of forums.

So far we love it. The weather is an adjustment of course and yet, we are not suffering much. It is humid (probably not for you) the sun doesn't shine like in NM but we can sit on the screened porch in the afternoon and early evening without getting fried. As a friend and a client that is in NM puts it: the weather might be dry but so is the oven...

I do miss my friends, but we are making new ones all the time. I have found some bridge groups and actually even have a few new clients.

Where in AR will you be living?

Keep me posted.

Nita
