Default Pope & Van Buren Counties??

I have land in both Pope and Van Buren counties, and was considering leasing the mineral rights. Does anyone know the going rate, or what I should expect to be offered per acre? Thanks, any input would be appriciated!

all I know is what I heard on the radio today. It seems there are a lot of people out there trying to take advantage of those who have land with possible natural gas on it. I can't give advise, but I would be very careful. It seems they are leasing land for almost nothing and only paying a small royalty.

I don't know I am just wondering if anyone can give me an idea as to what to expect there per acre and royalty as well. I really wouldn't know a good deal if they offered it!! haha

Have you had your property independently assayed yet to determine if you have any potential mineral value? Seems to me that would be a good first step.

We wouldn't either. Luckily for us, the little bit of natural gas on my husbands family's old property in WV has had the same company drilling for years. I guess we all trust them as his little monthly check does keep going up. Stoirmcrow probably has a good idea.

I do remember the comments I heard referred to the royalties one should receive and said some companies are only paying about 12% and it should be closer to 25%. this means nothing to us.
