Dry County?
I heard that Benton County (or Bentonville, Rogers) does not sell beer? We are re-locating to Rogers for a new job and I heard this passing and was wondering if it was true?
Thanks

I asked a very similar question a while back. There is an entire thread on the subject.

Yes, Benton county is dry.
However, a report on TV out of Jonesboro stated that Benton is the wettest dry county in AR.
Every dry county has "clubs". Sometimes as simple as a "supper club", where you pay your $5-10 a year, they give you a card, and you can go in and have alcohol with your meal or go to the bar.
Apparently, darned near every place in Benton is a club.
Somebody in another thread was complaining about that, stating that they had this huge collection of cards just so they could go out and eat.

yep, we went out with our realtor about a month ago, she just signed in, I don't remember her showing a card and we had our wine. The town we lived in while still in Texas was dry at first but finally did away with the cards. Now they even sell beer and wine in the grocery stores there. When we are in BV we hop over to MO about a mile or two away and buy our liquor.

Benton Co is dry just like half of the Dallas-Ft Worth metro (including most of Dallas itself) is dry. You have to drive 15 min to a liquor store, sure, but it doesn't keep you from every getting a drink at a restaurant or bar.
