Seriously dude, Target's s*** stinks just like Wal-Mart. Heck..the one in west LR is pretty scuzzy too but it's getting a facelift right now. Their customer service is NOT across the board consistent either.
I guess I was being to narrow in my comparisons. From my experience, though, the worst Targets I've been to were still nicer than the nicest Wal-Marts. I agree that costumer service isn't very consistent in any such store.

Never been to Baltimore. The few things I've actually heard about it have been negative about 90% of the time. I don't doubt Little Rock looks pretty nice in comparison.

I would certainly disagree with that! Here in CO, you have good and bad of both chains. The ones in the more "upscale" neighborhoods tend to be nicer, for both. Wal Mart doesn't strike most people as upscale, but there are a number of them in the ski towns, where you have to be rich to live OR vacation!

Many businesses are afraid to set up shop in bad areas such as Baltimore.

Wal-Mart's presence though has really helped bring Arkansas into the 21st century. Its brought many national retailers and restaurants as well as other amenities into the state that previously wouldn't have went anywhere near Arkansas. While we in Little Rock sometimes get jealous because NWA usually gets everything first in the state, their growth has indirectly benefited us as well. Usually after succeeding in NWA, these retailers and restaurants will expand into Little Rock. It has proven that there is money to be made in this state. Most people on city-data scoff at chain restaurants and retailers, but here in Arkansas until recently, these things everybody else takes for granted were completely lacking and there weren't mom and pops doing the job either.

Really? I thought Starbucks was popular with the elite crowd. I guess times have changed. What have they moved on to?

Our Wal-mart here is okay, but we have like 26 lanes and no one to check you out?? Everytime I am in our Wal-mart I am standing in long lines wishing another lane would open URGGGG! LOL! Oh about Starbucks we just got one here not even a year ago and I love it but well guess what ours in our small town was on the list of the ones closing. Another new building will stand empty and look awful shortly!!

Those extra lanes are for the Christmas shopping season when they will have the extra help hired.

It has always boggled my mind why Walmart does not have as many people working the "after 5pm" shift as they do the 8-5 shift. Especially with people getting off work and going to pick up groceries for dinner that night...
