I don't hate Wal-mart per se. The original intent behind the store was a great premise...what it has changed into....ugh! I hate shopping there, but I do. Not too much of an option. The fact does not escape me however, when I buy things there...or really anywhere nowadays...that I'm empowering communist China with every dollar I spend. It disgusts me! I've been considering becoming Amish and solely living off the land!

Wal-Mart own the Asda chain of stores in the UK. I bet Wal-Mart employee's in the US don't get almost five weeks paid vacation time as employee's of Asda do.

if i am correct when you work at Wal-Mart ( I call it S**t-mart sorry if anyone is offended by what i said.) you get 2 weeks vacation a year then after 5 years you get three and after 10 years you get 4.

people in America don't get 5 weeks vacation anywhere unless they are self employeed and doing very well or have spent many years with the same company. Standard is pretty much 2 weeks after a year: 3 after 5 and 4 after 10. Some will go up as high as 5 or 6 after many, many years.

thats true my mother the other day found out at her job when you first start you get 2 weeks vacation after 5 years you get 3 after 11 you get 4 and after 20 you get 5.

In Europe everybody starts a new job knowing that they will get at least four weeks holiday from day one. If VW move to Huntsville I think the employees will have the same benefits as their European co/workers. I hope they do.

No, you're not empowering communist China by shopping at Walmart. The people there are not making much at all really. That's why Walmart and their suppliers are going overseas to manufacture their products - because of the cheap labor. If it were as cheap here, then they would keep it in the USA. But they don't. So don't worry. The people in China only get a very small pay compared to what a person here would be getting. Plus Walmart and their suppliers don't have a high profit margin, so basically you're getting a good deal.
