I know I have posted a similar question in the past, but since I am now planning a vacation thats going to take us right past Gurdon heading south on I-30, I was wondering if the 'lights' could be seen this time of year (July/August) and if they are easily accessible from the interstate. Thank yall so much for your time and help!!!

I'm pretty sure the lights can be seen at any time of the year. It is more dependent on the weather that night. Some people say you will have better luck when it is very dark. No moon and heavy cloud coverage. Gurdon is a mile or so off the interstate. You'll have to ask for directions once you are in town unless someone else on the board knows. I know how to get there if I was driving myself, but I don't know any of the road names.

Here is a link to an article about the lights with directions:

The Ghosts of Arkansas - The Gurdon Light

It says it cannot be seen from the highway.

Attending college in southeast AR, I went to see the Crossett lights many times. I have goose bumps on my arms now thinking about them.

Yeah you can't see it from the highway, you have to park near this tiny cemetery and walk down a few tresses.

I never knew about the Crossett Lights. Makes you wonder if it is piezoelectric or some sort of swamp gas phenomenon.
