Arkansas weather? (THANKS!)
Hey there -
Could anyone tell me about the weather in different parts of Arkansas?
North, South, East, West and Central?
How hot and humid is it in Summer, how cold, snowy, windy is it in Winter?
Trying to find the best climate for our little family.
Trying to find somewhere that is;
above 30 in the winter, above 40 would be better.
need snow sometimes in winter, but not blizard amount.
windy is fine, any season.
not above 99 degrees in the summer, not above 90 would be better.
not humid in summer.
4 seasons that are distinctly different.
changing collors of the leaves in the fall.
Does this weather pattern exist in Arkansas?
Any help would be welcome, thank you.

Short answer: No, all of your requirements would not be met here in AR.

Arkansas summers are hot and humid. You aren't going to find ANYWHERE that meets all of those qualifications. You should pick what matters most to you and find somewhere that meets those requirements.

What matters most in weather?
What matters most?
4 very distinct seasons.
Any type of winter at all, but as little seriouse heat in summer as realistic.

Our winters, at least from about Little Rock or so north, would fit your bill almost perfectly but we do routinely get days over 100 in the summer in all parts of the state. Honestly, I'm not sure you're going to find anyplace that fits all of these outside of a rather more expensive coastal area.
Which is more important to you, moderate summer or moderate winter??

Here in Bella Vista our summers are not as warm as further south. Right now we are in the low 90s most days with only about 4 or 5 weeks of really hot days left: problem< you mention humidity, well that we do have.
You will get color changes in fall, a little snow or ice in winter, not too cold, too often, pretty springs but you will not get everything you seem to be wanting. I would suggest you go to the SouthWest part of the country, like NM. They get sunshine most of the time, year around, a few snow storms, some color changes and no humidity plus rarely does the weather get above 95. They will have a few days each summer around 100 but very few. I am talking about Albuquerque. That being said, there are lots of drawbacks living there as well.
We all have to remember, there are no perfect anywheres. (think I just made up a new word)

I agree! What you are wanting is not to be found in Arkansas. The winters can a do get below the 30's though not as often as say, Alaska lol. The summers are hot and humid and even if it is in the 80's it will most likely feel as if it is in the high 90's because of the humidity. We do have 4 seasons and fall and spring are absolutely wonderful. I also agree with nmnita that you sound like you should be looking into the New Mexico or Arizona area, just make sure your pocket book it loaded! That is one good thing about Arkansas, real estate prices are much better then anything south of Texas in most cases.

I forgot to add that bottom line Arkansas weather is unpredictable! You may not get snow for two years and then bang! you are dealing with 18 inches followed by and ice storn that disables your community for about 3 or so days.
