Medical care in Harrison/ other questions
Planning to retire in the next few years. Considering Harrison, Ark. How is the medical care in Harrison? Do you have to drive to Springfield or to Fayetteville when having serious problems?
Also, is it possible to purchase a home near Harrison with a mountain view?
I hope to tutor students during retirement. Would there be an interest/ need for a tutor for students or adults? What about music lessons?

The hospital in Harrison is in a new growth stage, in the last 3 years North Arkansas Regional Medical ctr has grown and attracted new doctors. And Harrison is loaded with a retirement community. For the more serious problems I believe people do go to Springfield, although I prefer Washington Regional in Fayetteville. Yes it is possible to find a great home with a view of the Ozarks. Try looking south of Harrison off of 65. Gaither mountain is an idea...you cant go wrong here. Ashley music or guitar Smith for giving lesson also a communtiy college here my consider that

Can you tell me about the churches in the region of Harrison?
Is Harrison affected very much by the fact that Branson is nearby?
Is there a mall in Harrison with a place like JC Penney?

Yes Harrison is affected somewhat by Branson. We've been planning a short weekend trip up to the Harrison to visit friends and some family cemetaries and hotel rooms are over $60/night...in Harrison!?!?!
Last time I was there, the "mall" with a Penney's was still there. However, the Penney's is really small.

The best thing about Harrison, is that Branson is very nearby, yet we don't have to actually live in the traffic and all that goes with that. In Harrison, you're thirty minutes away from anything you could want, and it's getting closer all the time. What with the new Branson airport and another John Q Hammons developement going in adjacent to it, Branson is creeping closer all the time.

Mountain Home has a much better medical community because they were just more aggressive at the right time. Primary care can be done for Harrison but there are some procedures and specialists that would require travel to Fayetteville or Springfield.
