Its the largest sign on the side of the interstate in Clarksville. X-Mart is permanently associated with Clarksville as long as it remains. Surely they have the ability to drive them out of town, or at least force them to relocate outside the main part of town.

I've lived in Clarksville four years now and have never set foot in the Adult store.Rest assured I most likely will NEVER set foot in the store. However, I don't find it offensive or think it threatens morality. If you don't like it.... don't go there. In these tough economic times what I do find apalling is the city is trying to close a buisness whos product obviously has a demand. The city has arressted employees who are trying to hold down a job and feed their famlies.
I'd bet my last dollar 90% of the people complaining about the store think nothing of allowing their children to watch an Arnold Schwarzenegger or Sylvester Stallone movie where the star picks up a machine gun and kills fifty people during the course of the movie or buying their children a violent video game for Christmas.
So.... I guess it's okay to watch people being murdered, maimed, and mutilated but heaven forbid if you can see or read about adults having sex ?

Why don't we read more about porn people 10 or 15 years later? (well, other than the ones who are dead within 10 or 15 years)

There is an adult video store in LR....unless it shut down...which I doubt it has.

Half of Evangelical pastors admit to looking at porn.

Arkansas is more of do as I say...not as I do kinda state.

You're an ignorant redneck. Three out of the four there have college degree's, and not one of them have a criminal record. Your GED is showing. It's called hard economic times you twit. I don't understand why the city insists on attacking the clerks just because they have no legal way to make the store move.

"We changed zoning laws on them, why ain't they move Cletus?"

"Well becaus that thur is a violation of the Constitution. We can't impede there free speech because we don't like the store."

"Oh okay. Lets harass the clerks instead. So what that they have kids and only work for fair wages for a honest days work. We hate their company so lets treat them like dirt."

"Okay. See you at the next Klan rally."

Seriously people, what have the clerks done? NOTHING. Fed their families. The bank doesn't care where the money comes from.

San Antonio has the wonderful River Walk, New Orleans has a good time on Bourbon Street, St. Louis has the Arch, Chicago has Wrigley Field, Paris has the Eiffel Tower, & Clarksville has a XXX Porn Shop you can see for miles like a lighthouse guiding perverts to drop condoms in the parking lot after doing a Truck Stop Prostitute.

Stay classy Clarksville!!!

Good post !

Too bad that (porn shop) has to be the tourist attraction of the town.

Having been assiciated with Clarksville for 40 years now, I can say there is an arrogance and ignorance ingrained in the populace that believes they can regulate morality. Clarksville(johnson County) has been "dry" for decades, yet the residents regularly pour across the county line and fill up their cars with all the liquor the law will allow (keeping a bottle up front for the drive home) and spending their money in another town. In the 70's and 80's, the only movie theater in town would show porn on Saturday nights, unannounced, to a packed house. The same crowd filled the churches the next day and vowed to keep their little town free from sinners. Typical hypocrites, like most of us!
